Some people measure the passing of time in calendar years, but Andrew, a business owner, can trace the chapters of his life through his history at CSC’s bowling alleys. Over the past 14 years, as life transitioned from the carefree days of school to the fast-paced realities of adulthood, Planet Bowl and Westwood Bowl have remained a steadfast anchor in the 32-year-old’s life. A place where milestones are marked not just by birthdays, but by the satisfying crash of a well-earned strike.

Passion for the 10-pin

Andrew first began bowling 15 years ago during his school days in Singapore Polytechnic. What started as a student’s curiosity quickly evolved into a profound respect for the sport. He was captivated by the intense, analytical nature of competitive bowling. The sheer precision required and the strategic depth of reading oil patterns revealed a sport that was every bit as fiercely competitive as any other.

As responsibilities grew, so did his connection to the CSC bowling community. Today, he runs his family business in the advertising prints and signage industry. In May 2025, his life took on its most rewarding role yet: becoming a father to a beautiful baby girl.

Naturally, with the classic hurdles of parenting, free time is a luxury. His form, like that of any athlete, experiences its highs and lows, and finding hours to practice and perfect his skills became increasingly difficult. Yet, the rhythm of the game never lost its hold.

A tale of two alleys

For this seasoned regular, CSC’s bowling facilities have provided the perfect backdrop for this balance. While Westwood Bowl remains a premier destination for many in the community, Planet Bowl became his undisputed home court. “Planet Bowl is a 10-minute drive from my place. I visit it twice a month for league games on Tuesday nights.” Andrew mentioned.

Planet Bowl is more than just a convenient facility, but a space filled with life's greatest memories. Long before they stepped into parenthood, Andrew and his wife, Edina, frequented the alley to participate in numerous fun bowls and weekend competitions. The couple also solidified their shared passion at Planet Bowl, famously clinching their very first Doubles Event competition victory together on its lanes.

While Edina holds down the fort at home with their daughter on league nights, she remains his fiercest supporter.

"I want to thank my wife, Edina, for allowing me to bowl and being my best supporter," he shares. "And to my mentors and buddies throughout this journey, thank you for the guidance and support. I hope we may all continue to create more wonderful memories at the alleys."

The sweetest frame: Perfect Game #9

In January, Andrew achieved his 9th Perfect Game win right at where he started – Planet Bowl. All those years of passion had culminated in a milestone that was over a decade in the making. Not only was this a sweet achievement in his 14-year bowling journey, but it also came with the biggest prize he had ever won.

The experience was nothing short of magical. Thrilled by the momentum, he savoured every single moment of the achievement, frame by frame, shot by shot.

"This Perfect Game was the sweetest," he reflects. "Not merely because of the prize, but because I spent the majority of my starting days in this sport at this alley. Planet Bowl is my bowling home, so I felt incredibly comfortable and at ease bowling here. It was a perfect night, made even better by celebrating together with my teammates, mentors, and the fellow regulars at the alley."

With nine perfect games under his belt, his hunger for the sport remains undiminished. Looking ahead, his future plans are centred on longevity and exploration. Andrew aims to continue bowling competitively for as long as possible, with ultimate dreams of travelling the world to test his skills in international competitions. No matter where the sport takes him globally, his roots will always remain firmly planted on the CSC hardwood.

Whether you are looking to chase a competitive streak like our league regulars or simply want a friendly and chill game at our lanes, CSC’s premier bowling facilities are open to all.
