It was definitely an afternoon to remember as Singapore Land Authority (SLA) staff came to Civil Service Club’s (CSC) Tessensohn clubhouse in various athletic attire, ready to set aside work and focus on their health (both mental and physical) and wellbeing. The excited chatter and interactions among colleagues reflected the enthusiasm and energy they brought to the day’s activities.
Everybody comes together
The afternoon started with a mass workout that got everyone moving and energised for the activities ahead. CSC was able to provide the perfect venue and setting, as well as engage the right events management company to host.

SLA believes that well-being is not one-size-fits-all. What helps one person recharge may be very different for another. Some find energy through physical activity, while others prefer opportunities to learn, create, reflect, or simply spend time with colleagues. We recognise that well-being looks different for everyone. What energises one person may not work for another — whether it is staying active, picking up a new skill, expressing creativity, taking a moment to reflect, or simply connecting with others. That is why we take a holistic approach, creating space for our people to recharge in the ways that matter most to them.
Different strokes for different folks
After the mass workout, everyone dispersed to various locations around the clubhouse for the various activities they signed up for. The day’s programmes offered a diverse range of activities catering to different interests, from high-energy options such as bowling, badminton and boogie bounce, to more restorative sessions such as sound bath and yoga.

For those seeking a challenge, the “Amazing Race” put participants’ problem-solving skills and teamwork to the test as they raced to reach their final destination. Mr Jimmy Goh was among those who thoroughly enjoyed the experience, saying that even though it was “siong”, it was very fun!

Aside from these games and activities, there were also many fringe activities such as games with sports paraphernalia, fresh flowers bookmark making, terrarium making and chiropractor workshop.

There were also stalls with well-known brands for pain management specialists, scalp care specialists, and those selling healthy snacks such as “Spicy Mama” and “Pinch” (halal certified) that are ideal for those who are watching their calories intake or have dietary requirements for diabetic or high blood pressure. “Bali Balance” also brought a line of personal care products that interested the participants of the day. Giving those who are not playing a chance to browse through an array of health products that might enhance their lifestyle.

Wellness fiesta for the soul
All in all, the Wellness Fiesta was well received by the participants from SLA. And it was a good wellness day with active sports, games, and plenty of bonding. Mr Jimmy Goh felt that the day was very meaningful as it provided a good opportunity for colleagues to bond while enjoying themselves with sports and refreshments.

Maintaining work-life balance and striving
Mr Kevin Lau said that having access to clubs like CSC is good for public officers as facilities such as sports courts for badminton, pickleball and tennis are hard to book/ ballot for in public facilities. Ms Belle Teo added that the badminton courts are very well maintained and the padded flooring helps minimise any injuries for players. She appreciated the extra care CSC takes in considering the wellbeing of players at these facilities.
