Halloween is a special day to dress up and get as creative as possible, and attendees of Civil Service Club’s (CSC) Family Halloween Party on 26 October did not disappoint! Members and their families came dressed in wild, whimsical costumes to CSC @ Changi’s Function Rooms, joining in on the spooky festivities. Some families went the extra mile with matching costumes, creating an unforgettable Halloween scene.

Fun for all ages
The Halloween celebration kicked off with fun-filled fringe activities. Kids enjoyed face painting and balloon sculptures, while McDonald’s Happy Meals kept everyone’s Halloween hunger at bay.
The magic show was a hit with both kids and adults.
Children dressed as their favourite characters, from Ninja Turtles to Elsa and Anna from Frozen, and had the chance to take the stage during an interactive magic show. Even the parents got in on the action, especially during the ‘Guess the Song’ contest, where families competed for prizes and enjoyed friendly banter.
Dressed to scare and impress
Families brought their A-game to the Best Dressed Contest, with winners walking away with Shaw movie, POPULAR and Resorts World Sentosa vouchers. CSC member Ms Monika Lulla, her husband and their 11-year-old daughter stole the show, wowing the crowd as the Addams Family in matching gothic costumes that captured the classic spooky vibe.
Ms Lulla, dressed as Morticia Addams, and her husband as Gomez Addams, were outshone only by their daughter, who dazzled as Wednesday Addams — complete with ‘Thing’ as her shoulder accessory. Proudly showing off her daughter’s signature Wednesday braids, Ms Lulla beamed, “Her hair is thick and long enough to achieve that look!”
A ghoulish family: Ms Monika Lulla, her husband and their daughter won the Best Dressed Contest as the Addams Family.
The family loves dressing up for special occasions, so putting together their Addams Family look came naturally. “When you dress up as a family, it’s also a bonding experience,” said Ms Lulla.
As a new CSC member, Ms Lulla joined in September and looks forward to enjoying CSC’s facilities, including booking chalets for family gatherings. “I signed up mainly for the advanced chalet bookings — as members, we get to reserve the chalets up to 120 days in advance,” she shared. “But then I saw there were so many family-friendly events we could take part in. There are also plenty of function rooms and workshops that I can use for workplace events.”

Trick-or-Treat time!
The Trick-or-Treat activity was another highlight, with children going door-to-door at CSC @ Changi’s sea-view rooms and villas to collect candy. Ms Gwen Neo — along with her husband, six-year-old daughter and eight-year-old son, who dressed as Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach — enjoyed the door-to-door Halloween tradition. “It’s nice that the visits were organised, so we knew exactly where to knock for treats,” she said.

As a long-time CSC member, Ms Neo frequents both the Tessensohn and Changi clubhouses and hopes to see more family-friendly sports events in the future. “A kid-friendly bowling competition would be fun for family bonding,” she suggested.
More great ways to bond
Another standout group in the crowd was Mr Soumik Chakraborty’s nine-year-old son and five-year-old daughter, who arrived dressed as Joker and Harley Quinn. “The kids love dressing up, and Halloween is a favourite with them. So, we decided to come and join in the fun” he shared. Always game for a challenge himself, Mr Chakraborty took part in the 'Guess the Song' contest and won a prize, enjoying the friendly competition with fellow members.

As a longtime CSC member and a regular at CSC @ Changi, Mr Chakraborty often brings his extended family for chalet stays and beachside relaxation. “We’re always here since we live in Tampines. The membership lets us spend quality time together and unwind after a long week,” he shared, adding that he hopes CSC would organise more intimate, family-themed events like this.
CSC Family Halloween Party brought families together for an afternoon of fun and laughter. We can’t wait to see everyone’s creativity shine at next year’s Halloween bash!
