#1: Affordable membership fees from $6 a month

The Civil Service Club (CSC) membership fee is one of the lowest in Singapore, at an affordable annual fee of $72 for public officers (Ordinary Membership). Suited for from Ministry or Statutory Board and staff from mainstream universities and affiliated healthcare organisations, the fee comes down to costing less $6 a month, less than a McDonald’s Happy Meal. For those retired from service, the Ordinary Retired membership comes at an affordable price of $60, costing even lesser at $5 a month.

At just $500 for the public (Associate Membership), Singaporean and Permanent Residents (PR) can join in on the fun too. With it comes the access to three clubhouses (CSC @ Bukit Batok, Changi and Tessensohn) and three chalet resorts (Changi, Changi II and Loyang), each with a different vibe and landscape.

CSC membership also gives free swimming pool access at HomeTeamNS’s three clubhouses, and affiliate rates to HomeTeamNS’ play facilities, and Civil Service Club London’s facilities and accommodations, via a reciprocal partnership .

In the words of June, a decade-long member from the Ministry of Education: “Access to more than one Clubhouse is useful, especially if they all have different attractions.”

For Professor Dennis, a new member from the National University of Singapore, the CSC membership is well worth its value. “A day out with the kids, I would have easily spent more than the annual fee.”

He also shared his experience of CSC London where he stayed at during a recent work trip. “The room I stayed in was spacious by London’s standards. The pub served good food and drinks with affordable prices. Despite it being a busy weekend, the staff were very helpful!

#2: FREE supplementary membership for the family

Each CSC membership entitles you to FREE supplementary memberships for the entire family – parents, parents-in-law, spouse and children aged five to 21 – making CSC the only club in Singapore to enable all in the family to enjoy the Club’s activities, regardless of their age.  This frees up the main member from having to be present to enable their immediate family member to enjoy CSC’s facilities!

In support of this is Ivy, another new member from the Ministry of Manpower: “I think it’s important for families to find places that are safe, convenient and family-friendly for their kids. And CSC has been such to my family.”

#3: FREE pool access, all year round!

One of the biggest draws for members are the Club’s pools. Every pool is unique – the infinity pool overlooking the sea at Changi, the Olympic-size pool at Tessensohn, and the wave pool at Bukit Batok.

Those with younger kids can choose water-play at the wading pools, available at all the Club’s pools. Decade-long member Azreen from the National Environment Agency: “CSC pools are a great draw for my family. My kids can spend hours in the pool at the Changi Clubhouse.”

#4: Be spoilt for choice with over 800 social activities in a year!

CSC has one of the most sporting, leisure and recreational activities by a club in Singapore! From large events such as Wine & Dine nights, to festive events and bazaars, Children’s Christmas Party, movie screenings, workshops, classes and even overseas and behind-the-scenes tours, there’s something for everyone. The best part? Members enjoy them free or at subsidised rates.

CSC Members' Day 2023 Cooking Class

“I love the classes here. The prices are reasonable, sometimes even lower than those run by the Community Centres,” said Jenny, an Associate member and a regular participant of CSC’s culinary classes.  Another regular member of eight years, Shenton said “The variety is mindboggling, and there are both in-person and online activities, to cater to all age groups. I’ve attended a yoghurt-making class and enrolled my child in the robot-making one – all good value for money.”

#5: One-stop entertainment hub

The amenities at CSC are wide-ranging to cater to different lifestyle and entertainment needs. Choices include family staycations at the chalets, BBQ cook outs with buddies, karaoke or bowling sessions after work, or even picking up a Yoga instructor certification! What’s more, members enjoy priority booking, members’ rates and additional  20% off chalet bookings at any of the 96 CSC chalets during their birthday month.

CSC Loyang Chalets

Angela, from the Ministry of Home Affairs said “I signed up for the CSC membership because of its facilities – sports, recreation, food and swimming pools at Bukit Batok, Tessensohn and Changi. Not forgetting the chalets at CSC Changi too! It’s definitely a one-stop family-centred place.”

#6: Home Club for public officers

Not only for CSC members, and the public, the Club also prides itself as the go-to place for public officers to enjoy sports and recreational activities. Since 1971, the Club has brought public officers together through the STAR Games and other Club events and activities.
